WebJun 11, 2015 · To reiterate, my question is to find if there is a way to get external data into a SharePoint List in Office 365. My plan was to import external dataset into Excel using oData connection and then sync this Excel to SharePoint list. But seems like this doesn't work as expected. Please let me know if there is a better solution to this problem. WebODBC can especially used in case there is no OLEDB or ADO.NET based or other (newer) data provider available. Very easy to setup in a few minutes: Create a SharePoint list, click "Connect to external data source" in the list settings, select the data provider, enter connection settings and data query as shown below. That's it.
