WebOct 10, 2006 · I HIGHLY recommend using the Amsoil engine flush before running their oils (or any long drain synlube), for the first time. This will eliminate or minimize most of these change over oil consumption issues. If you change just the filter at this point and topoff the crankcase, the problem may go away.
